Recap

  • I crossed the 160-pound line on the scale. I knew it was time for a change.

  • I got under 160 pounds on my own!  I did it! I got to 155 pounds. But then the scale didn't move. At all. And I was feeling really frustrated.

  • First visit/shot: 155 lbs

  • Second visit/shot: 153 lbs

  • Third visit/shot: 152 lbs

  • Fourth visit/shot: 151 lbs

  • Fifth visit/shot: 150 lbs

  • Sixth visit/shot: 148 lbs

  • Seventh visit/shot: 150 lbs

  • Eighth visit/shot: 148 lbs

  • Ninth visit/shot: 149 lbs

Week eight - nine

It has been a rough week! I traveled to Florida to visit my son in college and wham: the long drive and the heat hit me hard. I was not feeling well. Michelle was right there for me, and sent in an anti-nausea prescription that cured those woozy feelings quickly.

I'm still more nauseous and a bit more fatigued than the past few weeks. The heat continues in NC and my activity level has decreased. Of course, it all snowballs: when you're not feeling well, it's hard for me to get moving - and that can lead me to keep not feeling well.

Another side effect of the shot can be constipation. Not to get too personal, but that may be part of my recent issues. I'm adding a few fresh prunes (!) to my daily snacks. I visited a friend recently who has had great success with the shot and she is all-in with her prune routine. It has helped her feel better and makes bathroom visits easier : )

I'm doing my best to make my daily water intake a priority (my body definitely tells me when I'm dehydrated!). I also am working on new ideas for protein-rich meals and snacks that are NOT protein bars or shakes. Those are great - but they're not the best to reach for multiple times a day. I love Mexican food and there are so many delicious ways to prepare protein-rich (and gluten free!) snacks and meals from beans, tomatoes, avocados, tortillas and salsa!

Moving forward

I'm back for the tenth shot early next week. I'd really like to see that scale go under 145, so I am ALL IN!

Here's to continuing to being healthy,

Hillary
